This year’s third annual Comcol Innovation Software Development Competition Finals held on Friday October 20th 2017 was a complete success. The final competition came down to three schools who had demonstrate the application they had developed to a panel of judges. Portmore Communty College were in high spirits being awarded first place with Browns Town Community College and Moneague Community College coming in second and third place respectively.

The Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica (CCCJ) Started the application development competition for students enrolled in Community Colleges in Jamaica. The competition ran from October 2013 to May 2014. Students were asked to create innovative and original software applications that addressed a current need in their community. The theme for this year’s competition was “ComCol in a flash: Can you keep up?”. This year students were asked to put themselves in teams and create innovative and orginal applications that would address a current need in our society. So these applications should be geared towards solving social, economic, academic, transportation or employment issues.
